“Start a blog” I thought

Reusable-sense – the prelude

How difficult can it be?  I’ve learnt a few things and got some stuff to say. So, I thought I would jump right in. It’s not as if I am short on time…. And if no one was interested then, so what.

Where to start. Sign up to a hosting site, pick a template and then…. Wait! SEO? Monetisation? Brand (what brand?) Domain name? do I need to think about cookies? …Holy Shamoley I wasn’t ready for all that. I just had some random stuff that might be of interest (or not) … and in any case for the first time in years I didn’t really have a strong affiliation to any organisation so I didn’t have to tip toe around some subjects. And if Gary Lineker can say what he wants, then why can’t I?

Build it and they will come – but will they? Gary, who once kicked a ball and now talks about kicking a ball, has a good few follower (8.9 million if appears) – maybe I should talk about kicking a ball before hand?  But we do share a love of Walkers Crisps (other fantastic crisps are available – a big special shout out to Tayto, Burts and here) given that in different ways we have both worked with them – anyway….

So social media! LinkedIn and X (do we still have to say formerly Twitter? And how long for? … and who says so?) sorted! ….  my profile will reach marginally less than 8.9m… but we all have to start somewhere and on X well a new profile just for this. Instagram? I need to work on that.

So, having no expertise in web design, Social media, and not in the slightest resembling any influencers or internet personality that I have ever seen..... Nos Ponemos en Camino (the title of my first Spanish language textbook handed to me aged 14) we are on the road! Gracias!

So come with me as I empty my mind of random stuff, experiences, opinions, random interests in the hope that you might be able to reuse some of them. Hence the blog name Reusable-sense (there is some method in this madness you know!).

The postscript to all of this is …. Bear with me. I will undoubtedly screw this up and make a few howlers along the way and if the tech stumbles, then it will be caused by the nut behind the wheel…. And if the grammar and spelling fall short…. Well, I don’t really care – we are not going to split infinitives over it are we?

But it might be just worth coming along for the ride.
